OUR IMPRESSIONS
The Residential complex named MARE AZZURRO is located in Cardedu (Ogliastra), in the East coast of Sardinia, a few km far from Arbatax harbour.
The closest beach is that of Museddu: about 2 km long, is part of a long sand stripe which is approximately 8 km long and that spreads itself up to Barisardo.
The Residence finds its place in a one-hectare area, where you can find, besides apartments, pool, solarium, barbecue area, parking area, tennis/soccer courts. All this is dipped in a lush green garden, of which the owners themselves take care.
The eleven apartments are distributed in 2 blocks, each of which has two floors. Each block is meant and built in such a way as each apartment has its own outer space and good privacy. Each apartment is provided with 2 terraces: a side one (smaller) and a main one (larger). The latter can be used to eat comfortably outside.
The pool is a rectangle, and measures 18 x 7 metres. Part of the pool is reserved to children. All around the pool, you may find a solarium area: in it, each apartment has its own small table, beach umbrella and deck chair.
The wide barbecue area, which is common to all the apartments, is organized as it follows: there are many different half-timbered spaces, a counter top made out of granite and a sink.
There are many toys available for kids: see-saw, slide, playhouse and electric car.
Adults, instead, may play soccer, tennis , pinball and table tennis.
The Residence is guarded and a reception desk is open during daytime.
The area. Besides the beautiful coast, with its long beaches, as well as the smaller ones (set in sheer seaside rocks) , Ogliastra offers a fascinating and savage hinterland (spectacular rock and mountains, woods where you can find mouflons and voltures, archaeological sites with nuraghi, sacred wells, pre-historic tombs and beautiful caves.)

The beaches, from South to North (approximate distances)
The coast is marked by big beaches with snow-white sand, rich bottoms, wide beautiful and not very crowded seaside areas. As for beaches, we particularly suggest (in brackets, distance in km from the Residence mare Azzurro):
. Su Sirboni (7): small beach, Mediterranean greenery
. Perdepera (3.5): wide sandy beach, refreshment stop, parking.
. Barisardo (5): wide sandy beach, refreshment stop, parking
. Cea (9): wide beach, red rocks, services, refreshment stop.
. Golfo di Orosei Cale Goloritzè, Mariolu, Sisine e Luna: reachable only by the sea, by renting a rubber dinghy or, more easily, through the big boats leaving from Arbatax or S. Maria Navarrese.
Shopping: the point of reference is the town of Cardedu, just 1,3 km far from the residence. There, you can find markets, foodstuffs, typical products, fishmonger?s, butcher shop, pharmacy, newsagent?s, florist and a typical pastry store.
Various services: petrol station (2,5 km far from the residence, just outside Cardedu, in the 125 freeway towards Barisardo). In town: pharmacy, post office, Carabinieri, cash machine (just beside Carabinieri), duty doctor, tourist office, newsagent?s.
Other services: diving center, rubber dinghy rental (at Perdepera beach, in front of the bar), boat excursions.
